The Small Business Investor Alliance (SBIA) is an association of investment professionals from the US lower middle market private capital ecosystem.

Members include growth, venture capital, and private equity funds, family offices, private debt funds, BDCs, RBICs and SBICs, as well as intermediaries, investment banks, independent sponsors and institutional investors.

The SBIA provides professional fellowship, business opportunities, innovation, regulatory expertise and market data. It advocates for policies promoting domestic investment and access to growth capital for small businesses.

It holds a variety of events for the lower middle market ecosystem, including CapitaLinx summits that facilitate 1:1 meetings between LPs and GPs.

The SBIA was formed in 1958 and has over 400 member firms, including 100 in its newly launched Independent Sponsor Forum. 97% of members are funds, independent sponsors or limited partners.
